Ford’s C-Max Will Give The Prius Serious Competition
Ford already has a pretty impressive lineup of efficient cars with many reaching the 40 mpg mark on the freeway, however it’s C-MAX hybrid will push the envelope even further The cost of fuel is reaching epidemic high costs in the United States and gasoline efficiency is the first thing on most people’s minds when they are considering the purchase of a new vehicle. Whether it is a traditional car, electric or hybrid; consumers want a lot of bang for their buck when it comes to efficiency. Ford has not officially released mileage range figures yet but range is expected to be somewhere around five hundred miles between charges. Fuel mileage has also not yet been released but Ford Motor Company has mentioned that it expects mileage to exceed the Fusion Hybrid’s mileage of 47 mpg. the Prius may have some steep competition ahead since the C-MAX hybrid may be nearing the fifty mile per gallon range.
The new hybrid system will be similar to that of the Fusion but with a lot more power and improved gas efficiency. Instead of a NIMH battery, this auto will utilize a lithium-ion battery for even higher performance and more power. This vehicle will make use of the electric motor up to certain speds and then the traditional engine will take over. There will be two versions available; the hybrid and plug-in hybrid and both are expected to seat four people. Las Vegas Ford Stores carries a large selection of efficient cars.
This auto willl be manufactured in Wayne, Michigan. Ford is definitely going green since the Michigan plant utilizes systems that are powered by solar energy and will use a combination of traditional energy and renewable energy. The company is hoping that this will help keep costs to a minimum and result in lower priced cars and batteries for its customers. For new 2010 and 2011 cars check out Las Vegas Ford.
My Ford Mobile will be integrated with the car’s system and functions for driver convenience. This handy system allows the driver to charge the vehicle at automatically and heat it or cool it before stepping inside.
These are all very exciting times for the hybrid segment as auto manufacturers are in a competitive mode to outdo each other in terms of mileage. Currenty the most popular and best selling hybrid is the Prius by far. However, it may have some serious completion in 2012 with the all the new C-MAX Hybrid!
