Ford In France For Focus Debute
An exciting colleciton of new ideas and vehicles will be displayed by the Ford Motor Company at the Paris Motor Show this fall. This will be the first opportunity for audiences to view the Ford Focus ST expected to be released in Europe and North America next year. The ST will feature a new version of the 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine that provides supreme performance and excellent handling. The contoured body is compact with a low point of gravity and a wide stance. An ultra sporty interior and flashy “Tangerine Scream” extrior finish will definitely draw some attention.
The new Ford Focus will mark the introduction of the first truly global product developed by the company’s ONE Ford strategy.Designed on what Ford calls its “global C segment platform” the Ford Focus ST will be sold in over 120 markets worldwide and will have up to 80 percent parts-commonality globally. The platform will account for about two million units produced annually by 2012 and will underpin at least ten vehicles around the world.
Also on display will be the technology behind the first electric Ford model, the C-MAX plug in hybrid. Ford anticipates a European release date in 2012 as it begins production of the C-MAX in Valencia, Spain.The C-MAX will be available in the U.S. soon to follow the European release.
Ford is one of a handful of auto manufacturers that have been able to ride the wave of success year after year.With the ability to diversify to fit a variety of markets and an eye to the future we can expect to see plenty more innovative offerings from Ford in the months and years to come.
